A cleaning aficionado walked her followers through Dollar Tree and offered reviews on various products.
She said you can start up your new household without breaking the bank on cleaning items.
Mom and cleaning pro Keri S (@spill_it_mom) said she knows how hard it is for young people who are early in their careers to stock up their first home.
“[It is] expensive to start up a household,” she said in the clip.
To help them in one aspect, she shared her favorite inexpensive cleaning items from Dollar Tree.
“The $1.25 broom handle is so versatile. It’s the actual one I use in my home. I have all the different attachments for it.”
One viewer said she, too, purchased it and “loves the cleaning system with the handle.”
Keri pointed out the traditional broom brush attachment, the push broom attachment, the microfiber duster attachment that reaches high spots, the bristle attachment for cobwebs in your ceiling, the various mopping attachments, and the flathead attachment that functions like a Swiffer Duster.
“Now, this squeegee mophead thing you see all over TikTok… Guys, it’s $1.25. Yes, I own it, yes, I’ve used it many times and I love it.”
She also recommends buying the dustpan attachment along with another broom handle, which means you don’t have to bend over every time you’re picking up debris on the floor.
As for where you’re going to put all those pieces, she loves the wall hangers that keep everything out of the way.
“And everybody needs a good bucket. That’s just my firm belief. It serves so many different purposes.
“Before you say, ‘This is just a bunch of cheap crap,’ this is a bunch of cheap crap I use, and it works just fine.”
One viewer backed her up, saying the bucket “lasts years.”
For your shower, Keri recommends a fillable soap wand scrubber that you use on the shower surface as you rinse yourself.
“What I love about this is once it’s all gunky, you don’t have to throw it away because they have replacement heads for it, so you don’t waste as much.”
Although she recommended investing in “more durable sponges” like the Scrub Daddy, she said it’s good to have the cheaper ones they sell at Dollar Tree in case you need to clean up a “nasty mess” and want to toss the sponge away after.
She noted that when it comes to cleaning gloves, no other store has prices that compare to Dollar Tree’s.
“These are the best value.”
And after scrolling through TikTok, she heard dozens of professional cleaners talk about cleaning vinegar.
“Here you get this big bottle for $1.25, that is a great value.”
And finally, she said you can even get solid toilet brushes of different styles for just $1.25.
